IntroductionAs this is a circular walk it can can be started and finished almost anywhere. I have therefore divided it into four sections, each linking to the next - indefinitely! The walk may be undertaken in either a clockwise or an anticlockwise direction and there are descriptions here for each. I have also added a "Short cut" Section which goes from Pemulwuy direct to Andrew Campbell Reserve (or vice versa) as an alternative to two sections. It's not a big saving in distance but avoids those bits along the Great Western and Prospect Highways. More flexibility in planning walks has also been created (2012) by the opening of Reconciliation Road right through the centre of Prospect Hill from Prospect Highway in the north to Wetherill Park in the south. This crosses the Canal Reserve at a traffic light controlled pedestrian and cyclist crossing. There is an off-road walkway/cycleway on its east side from Reservoir Road to the junction of Widemere Road and Davis Road in Wetherell Park, although the part south of the Canal Reserve crossing is not yet accessible to motor vehicles. If using this part, TAKE CARE as you cross the T-Way as the buses do not slow down for the junction. Reconciliation Road provides great views of the "inside" quarried walls of the ridge. It's about 2 km along Reconcilation Road from the Canal Reserve crossing to the junction with Butu Wargun Drive (say half an hour's walk) and another kilometre (15 minutes) to the junction with Reservoir Road. The length of the full Circular Walk is about 10.5 km. and any reasonably healthy walker should complete it in less than three hours. Add more for breaks. This can be shortened by using the Short Cut and the new Link Walk (but not if you start and finish at Prospect Hotel).
